Male guppy's have the huge tail fins, the females don't. Most of the time the females look plain. If you buy them from walmart they mix them up in the same tank and you can usually find some already pregant. One lucky male to 7 females and you'll be scooping them out by the dozens for your bigger fish in no time.

I dont like frogs that much but if i was going to get a frog it would be a pacman toad.
Ill probably due the guppies though or ill do a 10gallon planted neon tank
or ill do a planted tank and just leave it runnning with 3 neons untill my convicts have fry than ill put them in there
