I am trying to get some 15mm float glass priced for a 10'x4'x2.5'.
I wanted to know if there was a quick way of working out a cut list for such a tank in cm or mm?
I want to the tank to have euro bracing around the top and bottom of the tank too which will also need to be cut to order.

Cheers.

Do you want the sides to rest on the bottom? You're making this kind of tough since you are talking metric and SAE. I'm just going to say 1/2" and give you the numbers.

If so, the bottom will be 120"L x 48"W
Front and back will be 119"L x 29.5"H
Sides would be roughly 47W x 29.5H

Thank for your help Pharaoh, I believe 15mm glass in needed for this size tank, as for the sides sitting on the bottom I am not sure.
I thought the glass would be better to rest up against the bottom. This way the planes could rised into position and would not require being lifted into position.
If the glass is 15mm how will this change your cut list?

Does anyone know the best way to construct a tank as there are various methods.
Should the side planes sit on top of the bottom panel or should they rest up against the sides of the bottom panel?

I was thinking the the ends could sit on the bottom panel and the front and back could sit up against the sides.
Anyone know??

my 10' x 4' x 3' tanks glass is 1" tempered on the bottom, the sides are all 3/4" glass (approx 19mm thick).

i don't know if that thickness is required.. but i believe the guys that had it built decided on being safe rather than taking chances on the minimum required thickness.

How is the tank put together in terms of the glass planels being put togehter?

Doing it the way you have posted will work just fine. Hang on. I need to convert everything to metric so I can make sense of it. I'll figure it out real quick.

This should be it.

Tank: 3048mm x 1219mm x 762mm

Bottom - 3018mm x 1189mm
Front and Back - 3048mm x 762mm
Sides - 1189mm x 762mm

Thanks Pharaoh for being so helpful mate!

I have been pricing cell cast acrylic sheets for the 10'x4'x2.5' and wanted to know if I could get away with 20mm sheets?
This is due to the jump in price, low stock of 25mm sheets and that the machine polished edges are only available for sheets up to 20mm.
