I bet you $10,000 and the fish that he is male, if you take a close look at the first picture you can see the iridescent blue scales "spangling" which is a trait only found in males not to mention the pointed anal fin and subtle hump

damn if you were in the cincinnati area i'd probably have to buy him from you...but i live in indy and cleveland is quite a hike

yeah you're a few hours away if you have a very efficient car you might be able to pick him up for the price of shipping or less lol

looks like a male. Nice fish. I would trade you but I only have cichlids. No bass.

Easy with the 10G brags, see my albums to see Red Terrors guarding eggs. The female is the brilliant orange and yellow one ( that the eggs came out of) . Identical to the 11.5 inch one in these pics. The male is also pictured, the one without the bright red, orange and yellow. Also pretty sure he is a male, considering the milt for the eggs came from his body. You can also see two females having a territory dispute, again, both are identical to the female in the pics here. But perhaps someone will dispute this, likely an armchair aquarist that had convicts breed once and spends a lot of time on line. Sigh.
226 tanks and 25 years in cichlids but still learn every day.
The festae is a female and a bargain.

looks exactly like my female with the black on the dorsal fin....if you were closer, I would jump on this.

GL with the sale

Well I have bred and cared for many many fish in the few years Ive been in the hobby, I have worked in a store specifically designed for the purpose of cichlid breeding there we had over 1500 tanks nearly all gauged towards the breeding of cichlids or raising them. As far as 25 years in the hobby it really dosent mean as much as it use to there are 14 year old kids that have been in thehobby a year or 2 that already know more then you and I will ever know.
I really dont care about you opinion on my fish unless you are interested in purchasing him. I am absolutely positive that this fish is a male.

Im sorry if this came off harsh but I really dont want to despute the fact that this fish is male any longer, just take my word for it he is a male.
