i agree with big one tho there are some bada$$ midas/rd's out there

lol at the kid saying the flowerhorn will tear up a red devil. My red devil just took a chunk out of the bigger flowerhorn's nose area.

uhh... how can you not tell when their 1.5 in? I can only tell from Flowerhorn... none other cichlids... umm i don't really mind of you saying that i am guessing but it's okay. If you don't like what i am saying then its fine. You know what you know and I know what i know.
2.5 in+ ahaha. I support you water. I don't want to be cocky or anything. haha Good luck

Because if certain people could predict the potential at 1.5 inches, the market wouldn't be flooded with crap fish. I wish it were that easy, I know breeders in Asia wouldn't want to deal with raising thousands of fry just to have a few to be stunners and a crap load of shizlooking ones.

You don't sound cocky, you sound misinformed.

As for you saying Flowerhorns will beat out Red Devils/Midas, I strongly disagree. Have you tried chasing a Flowerhorn in its tank? It doesn't take long for it to tire out(Probably due to it being a hybrid), and Red Devils/Midas cichlids have a ton of energy in them.

Flowerhorns can be kept in community tanks as well, It all depends on the individual fish, Tank size, tank mates and other factors.

Gator you're wrong again bro if you know what to look for on the fish 1.5" is about the size you can start seeing what they're going to look like. If you would have raised a handfull of quality fries you would know this. By that size you can see pearls, flowerline, fin shape and the start of their base colors. If the fish is good quality males will start to develop a nuchal hump at this size.

There are those occasions they don't show their full potential till they hit 7-8"s. I've seen them go either way honestly.

This is generally only true when raising mediocre quality FH. Then it becomes more of a roll of the dice, and sometimes one can get lucky.

Otherwise, what Cam stated is most accurate.
Many FH breeders in Asia begin grading by 1.5", and with quality strains by 3" you know exactly what direction the fish is going to take.
