That is really cool!!! I vote for 11 fry, because there are two heads. If there was only one head (but two tails or something) then I would only vote for 10 fry.

Interested to see how long it an survive. The dominance issue (one twin over the other) was something I thought about in terms of food. The more dominant twin will eat all, or most, of the food - and that might be the biggest threat to their survival if they have fully functional systems.

Good point, I'll have to watch out to make sure their both eating... Hopefully i can get them to eat from tongs or something so I can control it better.

whether or not this is a hybrid..it doesnt matter because im sure he isnt going to sell them or give them away.. probably keep them in a tank untill they are big enough to go in his adult mbuna tank.

if this happen to a red zebra pairs fry you would be like now thats interesting.
peronally i think he/she should be culled to stop all suffering. but i would also like to see what it looks like in adult form.

keep us posted . subscribed too :)

Kinda hard to see, but day 4 is going good! Now it seems that while one is hovering like a normal fish, the other is just chilling out. The cool part is that they sometimes switch! The bottom one will twitch and the top one stops hovering, allowing the bottom one to spin and straighten out! They're still shaky though, so we'll see what happens...

Just fed some crumbled flake food and watched them eat!!! This is the first time I've seen them eagerly pursuing food (even though one doesn't like going to the surface) and watching them eat several pieces in a row, no spitting! Very good sign...

Good luck, I'm interested in seeing them as juvies. What if one is male and the other is female?

That thought occurred to me too, Lol.

Update: they managed to come to the surface today to eat! One doesn't like to, but eventually he gave in and they BOTH were eating from the surface. They even seemed to be taking turns! Lol kinda funny to watch. I tried video, but it never turned out right... Once they get older I guess
