well i bought mine around jan 2002 at 5.5" and now its about 13.5" tip to tip so that 8" in 3 years and 7 month ;)

it grows in girth and height though.. like that of tinfoils..

i would say more that 1" per year.. mine grew at about 2" per year but not consistent though :)

maybe because of food intake? does your ff eat a lot? or does he have any competition for food? cuz mine is the only one that eats pellets in his tank so he gets everything :).. he also eats shrimp but not a lot because the NGT and ornate eats most of them :D

maybe you are right after all....i have parrots in tank which take pellets as well...guess, i gotta feed her separately.... :cheers:
