they get charged with sexual misconduct with a minor, and both get registered as sex offenders.

OMG. She was probably impregnated at 10!!!! The Dr. mentioned that they have no training/experience with 10 year old pregnant females...

This is just beyond sad. Shouldn't the girl's parents also be investigated for neglect or something? Who-TF allows a 10 year old to get pregnant??? And carry it to term??? Horrifying. I'm assuming this was not a rape since that was not mentioned...

It's shocking that this is in the US; unfortunately, child brides are really common in various parts of the world to this day, and of course the mortality rates for mothers and infants are staggering.

depends on the laws in the state, even if your under 18 and you break the ages they set in place you can still be prosecuted fully
