x2. They're about as bright as fishes come with all the yellow, blues, and other bright colors. You could use a lighter substrate and some rockwork to help them stand out better, too.

i really like the african cichlid idea, but i think im going to stick to a cold water tank filled with fancy goldfish, gold dojos and gold white cloud minnows

Cichlids, from lake Malawi, they are real colorful, they look great in ponds and breed like crazy as long as there is appropriate hiding space! good luck!

the reason im not going with cichlids are 1) because i want to keep driftwood in the pond and 2) because they are quite pricey haha
