Yeah I might have to release the green back into the lake he's very aggressive no one else in the tank even gets a chance to eat. Wish me luck in catching a bull head and darters tomorrow!!!

Oh I can I've caught 4 this year in a pond close to the creek. It's just hit or miss what you catch though. One cast you'll catch blue gill the nexta LMB or a bowfin or a bullhead or a channel cat or a crappie. Just never know what your going to reel in. Last summer in one day I caught a LMB a bowfin a 40lb snapping turtle, a 15lb flathead n about 15 bluegill n crappie

Dam are there not a lot there? I have a local river I go to. I went the other night and cought 65 in 5 hours. Took them all home and sold them lol

I guess there's not a lot here lol. We caught about 3 a day on average last summer this year maybe 1 every 2 weeks. BTW both of the crappies = dead. The one had that fungus on its side, started to look like it was healing, woke up this morning and both of them were dead? No idea why....

I started off with natives, realized most aren't very hardy and can't handle much aggression even within the same species. I would say bullhead are the hardiest, followed by LMB and sunfish tied for second. Crappie and rock bass (here we have warmouth but nearly the same thing) are a waste of time. When I was up north I had some perch, also a waste of time although I love their colors. Right now I have some dollar sunfish and a redbreast.

Ive had blue gill, crappie and perch. All of them are pretty aggressive. Bass tend to be non aggressive and catfish are sometimes aggressive and others just sit around and make fish disappear. NA natives are great to keep if you know about how they may behave.

Perch are one of the easyest to keep.... the hardest thing to keep IMO is trout. IV tryed many times most of the time they died within hours of catching them. I used to have a 8 lb lmb in my ttank thing was a hog I also had a pickral at one time. One of the cooler natives I had. I'm thinking of some small mouths this year. I have a nice place to catch them by the 100s in a few hours lol

i used to keep natives and had a hard time with darters. the only ones you might be able to keep is a log perch darter cuz they get 8" and will compete for food. stuff like greens, rainbows(which are illegal to maintain in most areas, like ohio), oranges(also illegal), etc, will only get 5"-. they are also easily out competed for food and are easily bullied. they rarely maintain their color unless you have a cool(temp) and decent/fast flowing water. but if your still interested, try darbie creek. there are tons of cool natives there like mad tom catfish and baby rock bass. also do you know any places to catch baby flathead

that's a pretty awesome setup! i had a native setup with a pickrel a bass and a crappie a few months back, since then i let them back into the pond i got them from and am moving on, i want to do a native tank but with fish from my nearby creek next
