So it all depends on what you want. Suppose you just want a really big reef tank. Lets see you will want about 1100*1.2 lbs of live rock and at a cost of about 4$/lb you are talking about $5280 in live rock alone and that is if you just get good stuff. But if you a building a fancy looking tank you might end up paying as much as twice that for better looking rock and for more rock. You can expect to pay about 1$/lb for live sand and .8$/lb for aggeragate so for an 84x84 tank with a depth of x then you are looking at a cost of about .9*84^2*x*.057=$362*x. Notice here I assume 90 cubi in per lb and a 50/50 mix of live sand and aggergate. So you can expect about another grand on that front for a 2.5in sand bed. So we are talking some where between 5 and 12 grand on rock and aggergate alone. From there on out that depends what you are going to put in this tank. Now if you want a fish only tank I think you could do it under $10,000 but that might require cutting corners and this is in your LR and so you want it to look good and that does not work with cutting corners.
