Hey MFK! Its been a while. I have a new/used tank that I'm setting up and want to share it with you guys. Back in June last year 2019 I got a call from Knobhill here on MFK looking to sell his 1100. The timing was bad for me but the price was good enough to consider the deal.
First things first, will it even fit in my house? I built a mockup of the tank with PVC pipe and put it in a few likely locations in my fish room. then I moved the PVC 1100 out the front door and into my driveway. Finally I put it in my truck. Everything fit. I couldn't say I didn't want it and now I couldn't say it wont fit. I'm really starting to consider this deal. I will attach a few pictures...

OK next will the 20 year old F150 even carry this monster? Yes! Damn it. This truck is a beast and never let me down. But it needed a little upgrade. I added air shocks. They work amazing!

I borrowed a friends truck for the stand and my girl friend and I drove out to California to close this deal

Knobhill and I moved many tanks over the years and this was basically the same deal. Go slow and communicate. We got the tank and stand loaded and headed back to Phoenix. No issues at all with the drive back.

It was surprisingly easy getting the tank off the truck. I put the back wheels up to the curb of my driveway and let the air out of the shocks and the tank lowered to just above the driveway. I put 4 sets of dollies under the tank as we pushed it off the truck. Then just rolled the tank into the house.

Then added some soapy water on top of the Styrofoam and set the tank down on the stand then just slipped the tank into place. You can see I had to brace the stand with some wood on the wall to slide the tank so the stand wouldn't move and possibly scratch the tile.

Background next. I got a one piece background from Universal Rocks LLC, I worked with Donny Thompson, very helpful on all my questions. The background is just 1/2" thick and covered the sides and back of the tank. I glued it in place with M1 adhesive with a caulk gun and held it all wit 2X4's. I didn't take a lot of pictures of this process but it was simple.
