  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
WOW! That's a big Spoonbill! I used to snag for them in the river, but the biggest I have seen was in the low 30 pound range. That's a monster!

When did they catch it?

Spoonbill do not take conventional baits and netting and snagging are said to be the only way to catch these (though I am certain there are a few exceptions but probably not too many) and generally acceptable in waters that allow that type of thing

Holy Cow. We get a few in Ohio but only reported by the rangers getting them when they shock the waters usually. That is crazy but I am not so sure I would kill such a large fish. Large fish = not so great meat. If I keep cats I keep channels in the 16 inch range so the flavor line is not too too big yet.
