whatever thickness you use you could do with fitting a sheet of perspex in the front about 20mm away from glass that should protect agaist kids and there playing

That is a good idea.Maybe something that is removable

i see where your coming from but id at least use 19mm.

amehelo.Do you still work at Aquariums r us?If so would they be able to supply the glass?I have priced all the timber needed but not the glass yet.What $$ would I be up for in 19- 25mm.Dimensions 2400 x 700.It would be convenient if they could supply as I live close to their Loganlea outlet.
