115 gallon cichlid tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Absolutely and Red Devils not being able to live with anyone. I think because they arnt all fully grown and there are so many and hiding spots it spreads the aggression. I will eventually ween it down to just the catfish and the Texas, Buttikoferi, and devil and see how that goes. The pictus are too fast, and the raphael is a foot of armor literally haha and the sailfin is also huge so not worried about those.

I think when your Butti gets a few more inches on him, your stock will likely whittle itself down to- 1 buttikoferi.
Given the size they get to, the butti will outgrow the tank, and the other fish won't be a match for him. I have kept a large butti in the past, and it was a killer, had to be kept alone after a certain size.
If your red devil and dempsey get along, you are lucky. I would re-home the Butti and keep the other fish. Water also looks cloudy to me, possibly from dense stocking of fish. Your fish do look healthy though! Nice red devil for sure.

Agree with the above, your butti is young yet, and once it hits maturity it will shred all the other cichlids, including the red devils.
Buttis reach about 20"s, and at little over half that, will be too large for the tank
