12" Endlicheri ate my 8" Sengal last night

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry to hear that buddy, did the endli eat it or die?

Steve

Endli survived. When I woke up it was too far down his throat to try and pull it out. I left for a while. Just got back and he got it all the way down. Makes me nervous though. My ornate isn't much bigger then the sengal was. Hope he isn't next on the menu =O

this is why it is risky to mix upper and lower jaws

nah i dont think its risky my 15" koliba and congicus and 14" endli doesnt eat my 7"-8" senegal

Wow, that really sucks man but at least it was only a senegal. Either way I'm sorry to hear it. You might not want to force your fish to fast or take the pellets. Those lower jaws are true monsters. I weaned my endlis onto hikari sinking carnivore over a few weeks by offering a big meal of cut fish one day then taking a day or two between the next big frozen-thawed meal and offering only pellets. They're living with my cats so if they don't take them they were always cleaned up but you can vac them out yourself if you don't have a clean-up crew. I still feed frozen-thawed of course but its nice to be able to just toss in pellets for some more variety. Maybe try that out and hopefully your endli won't decide that now because he knows what he can do that he is going to do it again.

Tough one, sorry for your loss.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Myself I have had good fortune with no problems even with a 20" fish mixed with an 8".

Just look at King's tank...

yet little comfort for you.

Good luck with what ever you try next.
