12" Endlicheri ate my 8" Sengal last night

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
this things happen rarely, actually the first time i've read a bichir ate another bichir. i've kept 3"ers with 12"ers before and the bigger ones just ignore the smaller ones. i guess your endli is starving so badly.

Sorry for the loss ! I've got a 3 inch Del with a weeksii which is over a foot and a lap wich is nearing a foot long and no issues at all. Must just be a mean fish

Sorry buddy I feel kinda sorry but that is the fish nature. Some times I wish of eating my sister because I imagine that she is a angus burger or big mac I eat alot of food.

Endli's stomach is still huge =O

Kinda sucks this happened, but then again it's my fault for taking the risk...

The ornate is def larger then the sengal was so we will see how it goes. Really don't want to relocate anything out of the tank. They all look so purdy together. hehe

I've got all of the bichirs eating sinking carnivore pellets except for the endli. after the meal he just had I dont think he will be interested in any food for a few days =O

man i have those exact fish as tank mates. is this an isolated case? so far my 12" endli is very peaceful and playful with my 8" senegals...

biboy- you sure hes playing with them or trying to get a good angle to bite?

OP-Wow... that sucks. I was just about to add my 2 8" Ansorgiis to the big tank last night. But I didnt and glad I didnt.

I think Sens are an easier target as their body is thinner than most Bichirs. Im sure its easier to point the finger as to why since it already happened... but that does suck.

Maybe there is not enough during feeding time??
