Lol! What...?:screwy::screwy::screwy::screwy:

Featherfin is another name for knifefish from Notopteridae also called featherbacks. Reticulated knifefish is also an african knifefish species as it's also from AFRICA.

It doesn't matter if the reticulated knifefish is from africa. It's an "african knifefish species," not an "african knifefish," being as that is the common name for another species.

There are 2-3 species that come from Africa:
Papycronus Afer
Papycronus Congoensis
Xenomystus Nigri

When the term "African Knife" is used, it more likely refers to the African Brown Knife (X. Nigri). That's always my assumption.

P. Afer and more recently, P. Congoensis, are refered to as Reticulated Knife or African Spotted Knife.

Now I'm lost. By "African Knife" I am pretty sure that he means Xenomystus nigri.

He probably does, but he hasn't answered any posts yet so it could be any of them.

Mine too, but since X. Nigri doesn't get 12 inches in captivity I was wondering if he meant a different species.
