No way , he can never scratches your acrylic tank , by the way you can feed him shrimps , beef heart , beef kidney , chunky meat ...... the most you can feed that will make your fish grow faster is live fish , trust me it is magic . three month ago i bought a silver arowana and i kept feeding it live gold fish , you can never imagine how big it is right now , it is about 16 inch .

And yes it will scratch the acrylic. Someone on this site (dont remember who) said there royal left craters in there acrylic tank over time.

You talking about Panaques... it's not good to bulk feed or probably even feed any of that stuff to them.
