12 year old parachromis loisellei and tank mate's

She does kinda look like a male but she has rounded fins and a thick breeding tube and paired up with my old big male rtm thats in my profile pic and acted like she was laying eggs but never has .. I also have never seen A parachromis loisellei with the gill plate pattern and her shape of head and body...

Interesting. I'm no expert, so I could still be wrong. IME it seems a lot of female cichlids have at least one egg laying w/ out the presents of a male, or if they have paired then of course they have a spawn. I have also experienced and heard from other people of the same sex pairing up. I am not sure why some cichlids do this.
 
Iv heard the same thing ... But its weird though she'll go through the process of laying eggs draggin her self across the rock or log but no eggs when she was paired up with my big male rtm .. but now she's paired up with the female rtm and the loisellei acts like the male..
