I have 5 fish in my 120.

5" red devil
5" JD
5" Texas
4" Flowerhorn
5" supposed boucourti/bifa hybrid

I want a Jag. Been dying for one. My boyfriend wants to get rid of the red devil.

Is there anyway a jag could work with these guys? Same size? Smaller? Fat chance? Lol

If that's a 4 foot 120 no way will a jag work. I foresee the the flowerhorn becoming a issue once it's full grown.

It's not a 4 ft. My 90 gal is 48x18. My 120 is about a foot longer.

Still would a tight fit, jags need at minimum a 6 foot tank to try and have them with other fish. That tank is a stocked to capacity on aggressive fish. To add a jag would be asking for trouble

I personally think the tank is too small for a jag. Your tank is pretty stocked as is. I think the red devil will eventually be a problem.

The only tanks I have are community tanks of aggressive fish. There's 2 ways to make it work as far as I know. You can overstock to spread aggression. Or have a really large tank with a few fish. I personally under-stock my tanks. I have a 140gallon ( 6' long ) community with a jag, red terror, electric yellow and a loach. It's a tough subject. With a large enough tank you can make it work ( with lots of hiding spots ) but your best bet would be keep the Texas and JD and your hybrid. That's a combination that can work. But on the more aggressive side your red devil, flowerhorn and a jag! They are all dominate. So there's a chance anyone of them will kill everything until the last fish swimming so to speak. It's a risk for sure!

thats a lot of fish for a 5 foot tank. texas +10inch, red devil +10inch, jd around 10inches, hybrid +10 inches, flower horn idk, jag +12inch. thats a lot of aggressive fish for a tank of your size.

i personally am not a fan of over stocking though. water gets really dirty, really fast. i say you keep your current stock and see what comes from it.
