they usually have great deals.Well I wound up buying the tank yesterday. It came with marineland glass hoods, lights, and an underground filter (which I won't be using) all for $247.99. I'm pretty darn happy with it. Do you think two emp 400s and two magnum 350's is enough fitration. I had these from other tanks and figured I would try them out before I went out and bought another filter. Stocking is two 8-9 inch Oscars and 6 ramshorn snails. What do you all think.
Congrats, that will be a nice upgrade for your oscar pair. The filtration you mentioned will be fine. One thing though fill the media container in the magnum 350s with "biomax" or "Ehfisubstrat" this will give youmore area for benificial bacteria. This is the only filter I have on my 72g bowfront and it works great.
Still keep and I on water params though, if ya see ammonia or nitrites you can then upgrade your filters.

I use the biomax in it already. Haven't used carbon for about 6 months now. I'm hoping it will be enough cause my wife has taken away my spending privliges for awile. I bought and setup the tank while she was at work. She came home and there was a giant tank in our living room. I gave her this puzzled look and said, "What do you mean, its the same tank thats always been here". Not as bad as the time I told her I was getting a puppy and brought home a 125 pd bullmastif. You would think she's used to it by now.
