Sorry I never refer to dats as tiger fish. I thought you were meaning actual tiger fish like the Goliath African tiger fish. Sorry for the confusion

This is my first post so hi everyone! I'm getting a 120 gallon soon, it will be 4ftx2ftx2ft and am looking for some stocking advice. I will be moving an angelfish, Firemouth and Senegal Bichir from my 35 gallon into the tank and was wondering what else I could put with them? I was thinking perhaps a silver tigerfish, and a zebra spiny eel, would this be okay?

Toss out everything but the angelfish.............Then, add about dozen angelfish and have them growout in the tank for a few years...........Within 6 months, there will be bonding and breeding.............So, fill the tank up with long flowing leafy plants..............There is a tank at the Steinhart Aquarium that is totally devoted to wild caught angelfish, very beutiful..........

I like the idea but I couldn't get rid of my Firemouth and bichir, I've grown somewhat attached to them lol. Perhaps a single pair or maybe two pairs would work alongside the Firemouth, Bichir and recently added pike cichlid.

Hmm, it seems severums are popular so I may consider it if I can't get hold of the dat.

You won't regret going with severums, very peaceful in terms of cichlids and will fill out a 120 perfect with your stock, I think a dat might be too energetic and active for a 4 foot tank with other fish but then again I've never owned a dat

Judging by my Dat, whatever slowly and peacefully swim at mid or top of the aquarium should be avoided - Dat is very active and fast fish and could easily scare fishes away (but I dont know what would happen with two grown up angelfishes if Dat is smaller then they)
