The 4' 120 offers more square inches of floorspace...

I have a 4x2x2 120 gal currently housing a Trimac Pair (M-10"/F-7"). I hope the tank can house them for life without a divider but only time will tell...

I've had this tank for a while and have thoroughly enjoyed it (except on moving day). The extra 6" front to back makes a HUGE difference...

I also have a 6'x18" 125 but not a 5' 120.

Based on my experience with these tanks I feel the 4' version is better for one or two large (12"+) fish... but the 5' version would be better for a small community of medium (9"-) fish...

That's good advice. I wasn't planning on getting anymore fish that exceeds 12". I was thinking more of a tank for smaller, schooling fish.

Oh, but the decisions...
I actually used to have a 5' 120 back in the day. I just traded it for a 6' 125 cuz I'm short and dealing with a tank that tall was a hassle. But now that I'm more "experienced," I've learnt to work around the height issue. I just have 5' of empty wallspace that would look much better filled with another big tank. lol.

With only 5' of wall to fill, ya better go 4' tank...gives you a bit of side room for maintenance...

well no, there's more than 5' of wall space. Just not enough for a 6-footer. I originally wanted another 125, but it's about 4" too short for that...
