overstocking? if anything, you could double the number of fish in there.

yeah this is a big mother:drool::nilly::headbang2:naughty:ing tank... you're not even close to overstocked yet

any suggestions on what else I should put in there... maybe i wont go with the idols bc i have been hearing bad things about them. I might increase the number of angels. I am looking for moderate to easy fish to keep. Thanks again for all the help. Although anyone know what kind of skimmer I should put in there?

Fish only tanks should not have heavy lighting. I would suggest T5HO lighting from Coralife. Next I would not use live sand or live rock because then you have to keep the salt level (specific gravity higher). This will cause your fish to constantly have problems with ich. Your better off going with a bare bottom tank or a thin layer of crushed aragonite or estes sand (not dolomite). For decoration skip the live rock and use ornaments or the artificial reef or moon rock that comes in 50lb boxes. As for the filter use a wet/dry with the strongest possible pump you can go with without overflowing the overflows. The skimmer should always be an MTC. They make a six foot model that would work well with your tank. You should keep the specific gravity at 1.016 Skip the morish idols. They are not ment for captivity. And the fish load you mentioned is good. Lighter is always better. Feel free to pm me

Bead filter... just read about it... Think it would work on this tank, being salt water and 900 gallons? anyone know of any good brands of bead filters?

Thanks,
Justin

Big Ol' Jaccuzi filters.. we use em at work, we have 6 for 30,000 gallons

if you go to one of johnPTC's pima threads or to airpimag's 50,000 gallon tank thread you can see them, just PM one of them for some info on them..

as for the fish you could always just use schooling bannerfish (H. diphreutes) instead, much hardier
