My local library currently an adult salvini adult severum adult chocolate and a larger blue acara in a 4 ft. 75 which is very peaceful. The choclate sometimes is a little cranky though.

It seems like you want some medium sized relatively peaceful cichlids. How about a pair of viejas? That gives you many options. Or some severum + different kinds of vieja. The blue acara would be fine with those as well.
all the info I find on the internet, says that polleni are peaceful... Are they really that nasty though?
I like the idea of some different species of vieja and severum with acara.... How many adult full grown medium sized (8-12in) cichlids could I house in the 120g (48x24x25in) for life?
The internet is full of BS and wrong info. It is best to hear from people who have experience keeping them.
I think a paratheraps syn, blue acara and serv would be a good stocking for life. Right now I keep 6 medium sized cichlids in a 150g, and really don't want to add to it. This seems to be at the max for a 72''X18'' tank.
