I agree with you that out of NTT, AT, IT, the NTT's are the best and seem to be more stable.

I had an awesome NGT but sold it because it wouldn't take shrimp, only to have the buyer magically get it on shrimp within a few weeks lol I haven't been able to get a replacement since.

As for your bichirs, if you're going with a 240g, then get all of them! You'll have plenty of room in that tank on the bottom.

Thanks for the info on the gold nugget pleco, I believe snookn had some, not sure if they're still in stock but I may have to put in an order with him.

I got an albino gibbiceps right now, but if I don't upgrade within a year or two I will definitely have to re-home it. I'm really enjoying it for now though.

A gar would go well with dats and bichirs too, even pbass du. I got some orinos because they replaced azul as my favorite because they have the blue with all the anti-freeze green color on the body :D
Don't act surprised, lol. You have an awesome tank. I'm still a work in progress.

Too bad on the NGT. I have never seen one around here at all and I really want to get a juvie before my fish get too big.

No problem on the gold nugget. I'd like to see more in tanks.

Had a gar a long time ago. Had to get rid of it cause it wouldn't eat anything but feeders. I really like their look and kinda awkward gracefullness but kinda wreary getting another top level fish with the jardini.

I'm going to be doing some switching when the jardini gets about 3-4 more inches so I can get my Mono bass out of my 75. Small bichirs, small bass, and the gold nugget are going in the 75 till they aren't snacksize.

Out of the four datnoids I bought last tuesday or wednesday three have died, two yesterday and one today due to pop eye. I just happened to stop at the LFS I bought them at on the way home from work yesterday and saw all their bro's and sis's dieing, went home and sure enough I had 1 dead partlly chewed on and one barelly twitching breathing real hard so I put him out. I put the other two in my 29g feeder tank one died today, the other looks pretty good he might make it. Eitherway I think I'm done breeding feeders, he can eat on them till he gets better. The only one that had it's eye bulging was the first dead one though. The others just kind of would go stiff and just float with the current. My LFS gave me some tetracycline, so I'm using that and seeing if theres something better to be using.

I'm an idiot, knowing they were wild caught(even if not) and not quarantining. This hobby requires patience. Lesson learned!!

i like the selection, most people go overboard, you got a good variety with near perfect sizes, and room to grow

What is the name of the white fish with the scales on the top?
Endlicheri bichir.

Sorry to hear about losing the dats :(

You're right though, we have to learn to be patient in this hobby and cover our bases, especially with new fish.

Well the 4th datnoid is doing really well. He still looks a little sluggish. I noticed his belly was big from eating some feeders and right then he grabbed another one.

The LFS owner said to use the tetracycline for 3 days then do a 50% WC and he should be good. I'm going to start another thread here to see if I'm treating this right and if I should further treatment just to be safe. Perhaps someone reading this can give a few insights on this disease and good ways to treat it?
