Perfect driftwood for them and your viewing. I do think a layer of sand would look great in there & not harm your plecos, but to each his own. Gravel i do hate with plecos though,lol..Love the L048, such an underrated plec

Thanks an yeah I'm jus over substrate I've always kept my tanks bare lol and yes they are an I can't believe one store here in SoCal is selling $130 for 3-4" it's getting ridiculous

Wow, that is expensive. Store by me usually has 3 to 4inch guys at around $50..Snookn, even cheaper than that I think..they look very impressive when large & still confuse me with the look of a L253 (black version)..Still not convinced they're not the same fish.lol
 
wow nice setup and plecos! I also have a 40b with some plecos... thinking about upgrading my plecos to a 120g myself as soon as I can!

Yeah serious I paid cheap for mine but I can't believe how some shops charge like crazy
