Well since the 7 day power outage destroyed my fish population it's time to think about restocking. I was thinking I'd go with either a species tank of say Cichlids, or maybe a single large species or two.

Was considering a solitary Clown Knife or a Clown Knife and a Polypterus Endlicheri. Maybe a single Black Arowana? a Mbu would be cool but I think my aquarium is a bit small for one..

Ideas? Comments? Suggestions?

Why not try something different, like brackish? Thats what I have now and I love it. Everything is a little Oddball but cool. Not to mention, the mollies can mkae food for everyone! :)

i saw your idea in the other thread about having multiple convict pairs.......i think that would be a very interesting and entertaining tank.......

i agree i am starting to love bichir more and more every day and i think this is a great suggestion.......other then your convict breeding idea i would definetly make it a bichir tank........

I absolutely love bichirs but my aquarium is 24" high, it seems like alot of swimming space would be wasted with all bottom dwellers. I was however contemplating building an in-wall tank, perhaps I'll make that shallow and long, I really want an Endli. I want an Aro too.. Ahhhhh so many choices =P

I'm really leaning towards cichlids though I'm a bit concerned with my normal ph being about 6.6.

With that pH then you can do SA/CA without a problem.

Do a bichir tank then add about 25 large tiger barbs! That would be sweet and as long as the bichirs are too small to eat them when you start out and you never feed feeders you might be ok for life. Just think how cool of a tank that would be!
