Hey guys, sorry I wanted to add this to my old post I had going but couldn't find it. Just to say again, I have a 120G tank with 1 male Dempsey, 1 male Firemouth, 1 male Convict, and 3 Clown Loaches (all the fish in the tank are juvies and under 4inches). I want to pick up 1 or two more clowns for the tank, and I also have been going back and forth on adding one more fish. I was looking at a Vieja Argentea, Vieja Zonatus, Green Terror or another fish you guys could recommend. I had always wanted a Datnoid, would that work in the tank with the fish I have, and forgo the Viejas. My main concern is aggresion levels and I know that Dat would not bring any more aggresion to the tank, I just want you guys opinion on if it would be a good fit. If not hows a male Argentea sound to round out the last fish of the tank. Thanks guys!

tank dimensions will help us give you more options. Vejas tend to be a lil more aggressive and may destroy your tank. After i know you dimensions others and i can help more

Thanks, unfort it is 4x2x2 I ran out of space. I also have a 180G 6x2x2 (south american), and a 30g Shelly breeder tank. I do 80% water changes per week with out question and keep tanks very clean. I really want to go with the Datnoid. I know they get big, but Ialso know they are not to aggresive and can stand up for themselves. My 180g has 1 12inch Tiger Oscar, 1 10inch male Chocolate Coreyphanoids (from New England Aquarium), 1 Severum, and 6 Silver Dollars. If you guys give me the go with the Datnoid, I will prob buy 2 or 3 and grow them out in the 120g. Then once big enough, I may put 1 in the 180g, keep 1 in the 120g, and sell the other. So the final list for the 120g will be 1 Male Jack Dempsey, 1 Male Firemouth, 1 Male Convict, 1 Datnoid, and 3-5 Clown Loaches. If space is a concern I will leave the Clowns at three instad of adding 2. Like I said, I always wanted a Dat and with the fish all still small under 4inches I think there is a good chance for success. Let me know guys thanks!!

Attached below is an older video during the middle of my tank additions and livestock changes. This is a visual regarding datnoid compatibility. Keep in mind, my tank was STOCKED. So, aggressions may have been curbed due to population. It's hard to predict. I'd say just try any combination of your preference and keep a close eye. All cichlids offer their own individual personality. It's hard to predict. The fun part is always bringing a new fish home and anticipate how they're going to interact. Good luck and have fun!

Potential Scenarios
- 1 Datnoid in a tank with other cichlids may become a chaser (aggressor). Recommend having 3 datnoid to curb attitude.
- As for adding a Green Terror, I had 3 5"+ Individually at separate times in this 155g tank with dats. All 3 GT were the aggressor. I've had bad luck with GT's and missed out on selecting a calm one, lol...
- Vieja and Datnoids do work, but it appears that usually the bigger ones will push and shove on dats (Very Passive Creatures)

Thanks, the final stock list would be the Jack, Con, Firemouth, Datnoid, and the Clowns. That would be it, I wouldn't do any Viejas or the GT. Does anyone else any opinions on the tank, I really think that It would have a good chanceof working and looking great. Also is it a good plan to get two or three and as they grow put 1 or 2 in my 180G stock list for that tank is in my earlier post. Let me know guys thanks!!!!

The Green Terror would be my second choice. If I would get the GT I really wanted a male. Im not sure though, I thought the GT would bring to much aggresion to the tank that why I went to the Dat. So wut would you guys perfer a Dat or a GT, those are the final 2 and I would like some opinions on rounding out the last fish for the 120G. I really would like the Dat and the GT, but I think I would be overstocked if I got both so which one would you guys do, Opinions PLEASE!!!!

What do you guys think, I would like to add one of these fish, let me know what yo guys think! Thanks
