125 build filter suggestions?

Nothing wrong with sponges man. Tons of surface area to play around with.
If it were me i would by the larger sized sponges. Hydro V is rated for 125 gal. Id probably start out with at least 2 amd a decent pump. I like the whisper ap150 and 300.
Theres allot of options. You could even fill a phosphate reactor with sand and create a fluidized bed to go along with the sponges.

Sumps are great but if your not ready... then your not ready, nothing wrong with that either.

Check amazon theres a ton of different configurations. I like the ones that can be hung off the glass. May save some tank space for you

To add your probably making the right call with the sump. Sounds like the tank isnt drilled. In that case you would be using an HOB overflow. I had one fail on me and it wasnt pretty. Luckily it was in the garage. Though lots of other members ran them with out issues

I’ll look into those sponges thanks bud and yes the tank isn’t drilled
