Alright, by midterms, which are like 5 weeks away, im going to get a 125 gallon tank, (which are 6' by 1.5' by 1.5') for my hybrid cichlids and otehr fish.
I was wondering about the filtration and stocking and heating of this tank. How many watts of heating would i need on a tank this size, I'm in the eastern panhandle of WV and winters get perty cold here even in the house. If i had 2 Emperor 400s on it, what else would i need filtration-wise?
I was wondering what kind of fish i could put in there with the fish i already have in a 55 that are going in there:
1 Female Dempsey
1 RDxLyonsi
2 BPxTexas
1 Male Convict
1 Male? Firemouth
1 Common Pleco
1 Ropefish
1 BGK
1 Port Cichlid
These guys are going in the tank automatically, would i already be overstocked with them or not? I was thinking of adding:
2 Needlefish
1 female convict
1 female firemouth (assuming mine is male)
if that wouldnt over stock it.
I'm prepared and willing to large, often water changes. Our water is about 8.0 pH and Hard so no blackwater fish would work.
What else could i have? Some kind of catfish or bichirs or another cichlid? I have other tanks to transfer the fish into if they fight.
The largest tank i've had other than this is a 55 so this tank is gonna be huge to me, so any tips regarding working with that much water are greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your help.
