i dont know about the money. but i used to talk about getting a big tank to my mom for like a month before i did it. so then when i did, she wouldnt be quite as mad.
My mom is a hard ass i talk to her for it about a moth to and still siad not so i sd screw it im geting the tank one she sees it she is going to be pissed off but i will still try to talk to her

If you want your mother to trust you and have the freedom of enjoying your fish without hiding (which sounds difficult when it's a 125!) then try being open and honest with her. Maybe take her to an aquarium or show her cool videos of the fish you wanna get. Help her get interested! Show her some cool facts or show her neat beautiful setups that maybe she could consider a beautiful addition to the home. Instead of dealing with possible resenment and having to rehome your fishies, try the honest route! I know you're excited but it will be short-lived if you spend all your time sneaking and lying. Ask her what her concerns are- water bill? Maybe she thinks you can't handle the burden? If that's the case, sneaking around will never show her you can be trusted. Maybe show her you're being responsible and saving or offer to help with the water bill. If you go at it in a responsible way she MIGHT be more willing to bend.
