if you put as much effort into your school work, as you do in plotting, schemes and manipulation, you'd be a great student.

Serious? When did you ever tell us that you had a "disability"? Also, where are we making fun of you? If I was making fun of you, I would have torn apart the entire paragraph, pointing out the grammar errors and inconsistencies.

Relax man. I was making a joke. If you think I was picking on you, go read some of my past posts in other threads. I do that kind of thing with everyone....

The most important thing said here.

When you own your own home, your rules. Until you own your own home.... the home owner makes the rules. Its that easy.

Your parents understand things that you don't. And that is how it should be, there is no reason for a 14 year old to need to understand how hard it is to pay the bills, feed and raise children, keep them clothed and then listen to them whine because they aren't allowed to have a 125 gallon $$ pit in the basement.

You said your mom doesn't have a job. Maybe that $200 would be better spent helping to pay for groceries. You seen to have a very self centered view of things. Look at the needs of your entire family, are they being met? $200 and all the $$ spent heating, filtering and changing the water can go a long ways towards helping.

A 125 gallon tank is not a need, its not even a realistic "want" for a 14 year old. Your mom is right. Do you plan on having a car in 2 or 3 years.... that $$ would be better spent on insurance. You might want to look into what the things that are NEEDED in life cost. Fish tanks are not needed.

Not going to go on a giant rant, but you need to respect your parents wishes as long as you're under their roof. If they don't want you having a large tank in the house - don't try to sneak a large tank into the house. Period.

People don't really understand the level of patience and how much sacrifice is put into being a parent until they become one.

Focus on school - you'll be old before you know it. If you can get a good job thanks to a strong education, you can afford a house and as many fish tanks as you want. :)

agreed. I had to wait until I was finished university and had a good job so I could buy my own house before I had my first 6 foot tank.

I had to buy my own house and my tank..

when I lived at home, they said I could not have anything bigger than a 90g, so thats what I did. I didn't complain or do anything deceptive.

sometimes you have to wait and do things on your own. life is like that sometimes.

My max was 20 gallons, expanded to 55 gallons my last year there.
