Hi all,
Just wanted some help with ideas stocking a soon to be 125 gallon tank. I wanted some medium to large American cichlids.
Was thinking along the lines of 1 green terror, 1 jack Dempsey, 2 super red Severums and maybe one other fish. ( I would love a parachromis loisellei or friedrichsthalii haha)
The tank will have a 10,000L/H canister filter running.
I will humbly take on your ideas and thoughts,
Thx for your help :)

The parachromis doesn't really fit in with the rest of your fish aggression wise. If you really want the parachromis, I would ditch the rest of the fish listed ( except JD) and do some smaller CA cichlids with it. Severums are pretty much big pushovers and would easily get bossed around. Other than that, I think 1GT, 1JD, and 2 severums is a good stock.

Thx for your reply, I really appreciate it!
Yeah that's what I thought about the parachromis, although I also heard that it depends on the personality of the fish you get haha.
What about something like a flowerhorn or texas cichlid as a replacement ( although I guess they could be too aggressive as well), a blood parrot might be a better choice.
My other thoughts were some rainbow cichlids/ firemouths/geophagus,
I Just cant make up my mind :)

NP, happy to help. Flowerhorn and texas will both be as aggressive or more so than the parachromis. Most of the central americans that get larger than 6" will be too feisty. Rainbows, firemouths, or geophagus (depending on species- avoid brasiliensis) would all be pretty solid replacements.

I haven't kept loiselle but they rarely get over 10" and are insectivores.
I would definitely consider one if you grew all the fish together personally, forget Freddie's tho.

Food for thought hahaha,
Yes I would be growing them from little all together, fish are just too expensive in AUS especially when geophagus are $35 each (not big either), wouldn't even want to ask what loisellie would cost,
Thx again!

I'm in the same boat.. Between the two
parachromis (freddie and loisellei) How are there behaviors/ Is one possibly less aggressive then the other and which could possibly work in community ??..:asianarow
