Hello all,
I'm getting a 125 gallon off Craigslist and we went to see it, it has 2 braces and is supposed to have 3 glass top lids, but the guy with the tank said he broke one so one third of the tank is just open. That won't work for me since I plan on having some jumpy fish in there, plus the water will evaporate much too quickly. The aquarium is an All-Glass aquarium and I've been searching for the dimensions of the lids so I can have a new one ready when we go pick it up. However, from the research I've done, supposedly they don't make these lids anymore (Someone online said they were around 22 inches long, waiting on the exact dimensions from the guy with the tank) but now just make one big lid (72 inches x 18 inches). That seems sort of dangerous to have a 6 foot lid, since if you're down at one end working in the tank a fish could easily jump out on the other side, plus it'll be pretty heavy, I would assume. Does anyone have any knowledge of these lids, where I might be able to find one to fit the opening, or if they really no longer make them and my only choices are a) to buy the 6 foot lid or b) to have glass specifically cut for the tank, which is a big p.i.t.a. Thanks in advance ya'll.
