-Hey guys I just bought a 125gallon setup that came w/ the stand, canopy, 4 HOT Mag filters, 3 Bio-wheel pros, 4 air pumps, 4 heaters, undergravel filter, and much more.....all for only $125.
-So far I have sold the filters and air pumps and purchased 2 mag 350s.
-The only thing I have found wrong with the aquarium itself is there is a good sized chip in the edge of the glass on the back right panel so I'm not sure if this will potentially ruin my whole dream of setting this tank up or if I can fix it in some way.
-I will be using this thread to track my progress of refurbishing this entire setup. Here's the order of what I will be doing.
1-refinish the stand--sanding, filling, installing new handles, fresh coat of paint.
2-refinishing the canopy that has a warped lid...I don't own a saw so I might wait on fixing the lid but I will be sanding, and painting the canopy.
3-cleaning up the aquarium and hopefully fixing the chip.
4-possibly replacing the current lighting in the canopy with actual aquarium lighting instead of undercabinet lighting.
5-Then the only thing left is to buy pool filter sand, powerheads, decorations, and then fill it up.
6-Add my school of 11 Tropheus Dubosoi once the water is well established.
Any advice on fixing the chip in the glass and the best way to install aquarium lighting in a canopy would be greatly appreciated.
