125 Gallon - Should I buy it?

A used XP3 at a good price should be around $50-$60 at the most if bought seperate.

So if I sold all 3 of them that should bring me around $150? That would put me at $350 for the tank/stand/glass tops/canopy/heater/nice light setup. Still not sure if I should buy it. Think they would sell for $50 on ebay? One is 6months old. The other 2 are 3 or so months old.

a big question I have is how 'high end' is that stand really?

because most stands like that at the LFS are super expensive, but actually poorly made

ie press board or laminate material, not even wood. and overtime they can fall apart from water damage.

I would check that before buying. I prefer tube steel stands or real wood stands, and avoid the particle board/press board type stands that are so common yet so expensive..

I bought my XP3 for $60 used but I tend to low ball people and search the local classfieds all the time. Ebay will not sell it that cheap. Just my opinion since the $500 range, it should be like a 180 gallon tank with the XP3s and that would be a good price.

Just tell him to lower the price some then it would be a good deal. People are willing to bargain like that all the time.

The deals I see now in my local area are like a 100 plexi tank with stand/light with Fluval 404 cannister for $150. So this is why I am thinking yours is a high price.

If the tank has no leaks in it and is in good shape (and you have the space for another tank) Id say take it! (just give it to me after)

Here's my 2 cents....If it's your buddy then you know what your getting...big up side.
If the money isn't a burden for you then you're doing right by a friend and you both walk away happy. Here's my big question...is a 125 what you WANT or is it what's available? Here's what I mean, if you're looking to raise pbass or some other monsters really think about if that 125 footprint works for you. If you know it's your "dream tank" then buy it and do a buddy a solid.

You are right. I just checked ebay and their is a used one that is currently at an $81 bid.

I just bought a 125 with oak cabinet stand and lights for $200. The filters add value to the system but they're still used. $400 sounds like a good deal, $500 if you're helping out a friend.
