125 Gallon solo aggressive fish ideas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Keep in mind a fh can easily die at 3-4 years old due to the poor genetics and inbreeding. A good trimac should last 10+yrs.

Good point. I really like the black nastys but like I said I can't find them anywhere. I could probably do a pair in a 125 right? Do you think I could do a trimac pair in a 125?

The only thing that scares me about the nastys is that they have a bloating problem right? Has anybody ever heard of it?

Yes they do, you can not over feed them and have to give them plant matter. Aslo water quality has to be maintained

Now I think I really want a pair of aggressive but pretty fish. I don't like really fat thick fish but more so fish that resemble bass predators. I'd want something very hardy, attractive, and not too shy. Sometimes I wish I could just put a dovii in there and call it a day lol but I'm looking for a pair that could stay in there for life

Grammodes are shy but very Dovii like...
Don't black nasty get 16+" as do jags, pretty tight for a 125 imo...
Think beani get 16" too?

They get like 14 max. I just don't like how they bloat easily. They need plant matter too. Of course I feed my fish pellets mainly and frozen treats but I love seeing predators go after crickets, nightcrawlers, and occasional feeders. I was something aggressive like that. But a pair. If peacock bass didn't get so big, I would want one of those. Always in your face and seeing them attack their food is entertaining. I also like how they look
