So would this combo work much better with the footprint mentioned above (24" wide)? I don't see myself upgrading past a 120 gallon tank so my desired stock would be in there for life. So as of now, I'm looking at the following in a wide (24") 125 gallon tank:
1 EBJD
2 Severums
6 Geophagus red head tapajos
School of 15-20 tetras
As long as you get everyone as juveniles. I think you can make that work nicely. Make sure you have driftwood or things to break lines of site in the tank so that fish can escape one another. Use a sand substrate if you can, and if possible, have a tank to remove anyone who is too much of a trouble maker. Also, what ever you put in the tank, try to reduce the number of sharp edges on furnishings so that if the larger (Sevs and EBJD) are trying to escape one another and bump things not too much damage is caused.
Do you guys have any good suggestions for the group of 15-20 schooling fish that would look good with that combo?
Also, geophagus red head tapajos are a smaller species of geo, correct? If I was to go for the altifrons, would they grow too big for a tank with the above footprint and stock? Keep in mind that I will not be upgrading past the 125 gallon tank.
