125 Gallon Stock Suggestions (Agressive Tank)

Agreed. I'm not sure why everyone assumes you need a 700 gallon aquarium day 1 for a solo 2.5" dovii. Seems a little ridiculous to me...

In life stuff happens. Get the big tank or pond first and THEN stock it. Listen to the voice of a hypocrite I
know what I'm talking about I worked at a petstore where I got stock at cost and I have impulse buy issues.
I had a lot of tanks lined up- it was a sure thing, really it was. Well it wasn't and I ended up with an overstocked 90 gallon that was growing out fish I couldn't possibly house long term (including a pair of channel cats that were sold to me as something else)
Even with my resources (I know a lot of fish people)I found it really hard to find responsible homes for my fish. If I would've shown more patience I wouldn't have made all those problems for myself and would've been able to aquascape with an actual plan in mind and possibly establish an invert community...

There are lots of factors that go into it, and every fish is different. What I was getting at is that just because your dovii is only "semi-aggressive" now, does not mean it will stay that way. Not saying you need a 700 gallon aquarium day 1 for a dovii, but most of the time people who get dovii don't ever plan on getting it the 300+ gallon tank it needs. Your post asks for suggestions on tankmates for a dovii in a 125; the simple answer is nothing.

I have a really good local pet store that takes in all and every type of fish. They probably have 10k gallons worth of tank space. I'm willing to run the experiment and see how it works. No fish will be harmed. I'll make sure of that. Most likely I'll get a tank for the dovii to be solo.

I was also wanting to get a 125 gallon tank.

My ideas were
4 Firemouth cichlids
4 Nicaragua cichlids
4 Electric Blue Acara
2 Delhezi bichir
I was going to have the temp at 78-79 and ph at 7.3-7.4
Do you think this would work?
