125 gallon stocking ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Any chance could grow out the oscar with the 55 gallon occupants assuming it started out at their size or larger and then swap him with the auratus if auratus is still around.

Just add the oscar to the 125 if you really want it... it might or might not work but you wont know until u try... try to get an oscar a little larger than the dempsey/gt

I added a Tiger Oscar that is about size of the green terror and so far everyone is good. The other fish would come check out the oscar and oscar would bow up ...if they didnt leave soon then my Jack Dempsey would come over and run the other fish away from the Oscar. I guess he figured he is the boss in the tank and doesnt want to allow any issues. It was pretty cool to see.

Do the 55 African and the larger tank Central American. In my 50 gal tank I have 12 yellow labs and 12 princess with one bichir (growing out then move to big tank). Once the bichir s moved, Ill prob add 12 demosoni. Not sure on that with their agression. So far, everything is going well in the African tank. Its been running for 5 months now. I am possitive if I put them in my American tank, they would get eaten within a week. Its your money, but I wouldnt do it.

As far as the Oscar goes, I would not put it with a GT. My Stalbergi chsed it around nonstop. I eventually had to rehome the Oscar to spare its life. Now it chases the Carpintis and Jag around a lot. They are a mean fish.

The only thing I've ever had luck keeping with GTs are Tiger Oscars, any other species I put in there would get rammed to death by GT within a few hours. Just saying.

I know I wouldn't keep one with my JD for sure.

My GT is a pushover....likes to chase some if fish will run but no one really runs from her. My JD is pretty laid back currently. I am hoping the oscar can catch up in size quickly with my jack in case the jack starts getting a bad attitude. Oscar is eating already and seems ok.....bumblebee is messing with it some but no chasing little facing off.
