I know this thread will most likely be moved. Project has started with a tank re-seal (not build).

My buddy and I just picked this 125 gallon tank on Sunday. This is going to be my new home for my Oscar fishes. One tiger and one red. This tank will be replacing a 75 gallon and a 55 gallon.
Along with this GL purchase there are also precautions to be had. This tank will have to be re-sealed (due to leak) and a stand will have to be built.
The tank came with a stand but I just don't trust it. Doesn't go with my color scheme. Actually it is rather questionable construction, not tall enough for a canister filter or a sump, and I feel it doesn't distribute weight equally. So Stand build!:naughty:
I will also be building my first DIY sump:nilly:
You can expect updates tonight on the re-seal of the tank and possibly plumbing set up.

I detailed my 125 build here: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=357512

Fits my XP4 and FX5 with plenty of room to spare. The two large doors allow me easy access to everything as well. My favorite aspect was to put the plywood floow on the very bottom so that the internal bracing would actually act as a base divider. I have my XP4 and media for it on the far right indent. The FX5 and media for it is in the left. The large middle section is for food, cleaning supplies, and chemicals.

I will be adding a rubber made drawer system next to the center to better organize everything.

I also have a rubber made tray under the filters to catch any water that might spill in cleanings or in case of a leak.

Thanx for the link. I am thinking of building a sump because I have a lot of the materials laying around and I do not have the money for a canister filter.
My stand how ever will be framed out in two x fours and I tong and groove paneling.

Yeah I wanted to do a wet/dry but with the noise and such the wife did not buy in. So that will have to be built for my ray tank in the basement I plan on starting next year.

Queit enough for you and I yes. Quiet enough for the wife? No.

The splashing of the water off of the drip tray to oxygeniate the water woudl have driven her nuts

Hey guys here are some updates on my progress. My buddy came over to help with the sealing process. I just re-sealed one corner and opted to re-seal a second corner. I did not like the look of the silicone. Also started work on my sump. A buddy who has built his own sump and plenty more tank build experience drew up an over flow which I assembled this evening. Well part of it.
I also picked up two tanks the other day a forty breeder and thirty long. I will be cleaning up the 30 and making it my sump.
