125 gallon tank question?

I picked up a 125g aquarium for free the guy that gave it to me stated he used it for turtles for years and did not know if it held water, but it did years ago when It was used as an aquarium. I have 2 question.1st. Is it ok to place aquarium on smooth concrete garage floor to fill it and see if it holds water? reason I don't have a stand yet...2nd. There is a crack in upper bracing plastic trim along the top see pictures will this be a problem when tank is filled and if so what's the best way to try to fix it. thanks Mike

replace the top rim, and if theres no cracks, you should be good. btw, why did he just give it away?

I wouldn't trust any tank i didn't buy new. Even then... so, you know. Be careful.

can I leak test it while it sits on concrete garage floor is it safe without a stand?

but get a new top rim or your tank will bow and bust.

for testing purposes a clamp that fits where the brace goes front to back will work fine ,,, no sense in investing all that work then finding out you have to reseal it anyway.... and a good clamp will work as a permanent solution,if you dont mind the look..
