I just got a 125 gallon tank but i'm not sure if the floor of my house will hold. I was planning on building a simple stand with four legs or six legs. My house is built on stilts/pylons so its not directly on the ground. Its raised about 4 ft from the base of the pylons/stilts. I know the tank weights about 1500 lbs filled so does anybody have advice?

Thanks

yeah u could use the floor jacks or get a bunch or cender blocks and stack as many as u can under the spot where the tank is gonna be. Then get bricks to fill in the rest of the way.

Instead of building a stand and having the legs sit on the floor, use a 2x4 base to sit the legs on (build them into your stand) this will distribute the weight over the entire foot print of the tank instead of just the legs.

Does anybody know the math on how much weight will be per square foot? Assuming the weight is evenly distributed.

That looks pretty huge for just a 125g. I have a 125g 3/4" acrylic tank with a super heavy duty d.i.y. stand on the second floor in my apartment. It's HEAVY and my floor holds it fine. I also have a 100g right next to it that's fine too. Of course it really depends on your house and the floor since they're all different.

IMO you'll probably be fine. You could reenforce the floor with cinder blocks or something but you'll probably be fine. You can just be cautious while filling.

P.S. Nice clean, simply stand btw. :)
