125 SA cichlid tank

that looks amazing! your aquascaping and lighting looks very natural. plus the geos are found in plantless water filled with bits of driftwood in most cases. did you keep any of the babies? I had 4 tapajós but now I only have one. biggest one killed off the rest which I assume were mostly males which is very unfortunate. but he plays nice with my other geos and fish.

I did keep some of the babies, 4 of the ones in this tank are second generation. I've raised a couple spawns but I'm letting nature take its course now, need tank space for other fish. When I first got these geos I bought 6 and 5 of those were male, that poor female never got a minute to herself. Fun to watch all the guys try and show off though.

You got lucky I think I must have got all males. Its funny because the conspecific aggression was very high but he completely ignores all the other fish. Hopefully he grows up as beautiful as your male when he was breeding

Thanks. This is a late response, but yea I did keep a couple of the kids, 1 male and 3 females in this group are from one of the earlier spawns.

Thought I'd update this thread, I moved a bunch of fish around and re decorated this tank a small bit. Here's how it looks now
The stock is 4 uaru amphiacanthoides, one wild caught astronotus ocellatus, and 8 geophagus tapajos. I decided to move the angels and my plecos out so I make sure they are able to get enough food (I'm running a hex sheild treatment right now). So far the arrangement is working out in this tank.

Very nice! I'm about to set up a 150 with severums and geo tapajos. Gives me something to compare to. Love the drift wood.

thanks I love the big piece in the middle, its a pain to move around though. speaking of severums, I recently picked up some sevs labeled as heros sp. "curare". i don't think they are going in this tank though. all full at the inn.
