Forgot about this thread. So i'll update. I think original stocking plan was thrown to the wind, and the tank is becoming a world community tank. lol
4 yellow labs
1 Demasoni
1 JD
1 Rainbow shark
4 Giant danios
the pleco is gone, it somehow found its way down to the wetdry filter pad.
So far everyone gets along great, still going to add a few more fish once I can find them. I'll be headed to tampa in the next month or so and will probably stop by the riverview facility and imperialtropicals to pick up the rest of my stock
If I were you I'd scrap the tank and start over. There is a reason why you don't find people mixing African Cichlids with SA/CA more often and why you really just don't find it on these forums at all. Your tank is setup to fail and I don't know why anyone would do that on purpose.
As you can see from my signature I'm currently housing Africans and there are many MANY options for a nice African community tank with a 125 gallon. Seriously, choose a lake and choose what you want, but you didn't even consider going down that route either.
ah, ok see, I knew it could happen, I just seen ssooooooo many tanks with huge fish and small Convicts and I would always swear the big guys were afraid of the crazy little Convicts, but that picture is a good reminder. I coulda swore Mother Nature went looney for a while until I saw that lololol
Reminds me of my Oscar that ate an African Clawed Frog and the leg was sticking out his mouth for 3 days until he finished digesting and could finish swallowing it
Its pretty, but not sure what it is
get a festae pair lolMy standard 125 is just about ready for fish. Yay. Filtration is no problem, has a wet dry rated for 300g. Total water volume is around 175g.
My only problem is the tank size. I love all the large cichlids, but doubt I could comfortably house all the ones I like full grown. So maybe 3 or 4 large ones, but.....thats not enough fish. I do like some of the smaller fish, but figure theyll get eaten.
I like the green terror, ebjd or reg jd, tiger oscar, green texas, severum. I know this is too many large fish, whats the most i can keep? What for sure wont work? Any smaller fish that can be kept with them? Id prefer something colorful, not plain. I do like yellow labs, seen them kept successfully.
Any input, or suggestions? Thanks
