125 stocking

Been out of the hobby a while after I lost my wolf and exploring options. What could I work with in a 125gal (72x18x24)? Single or shoal, I’m not opposed to a single specimen tank either. Running 2 ehime 2213 cans and a pair of marineland hob, live plants sand and drift wood

4-5 Redbelly Piranha will work.
 
or you can upgrade to a better pygo specie like caribas or pirayas. i would suggest ternetzis but it's harder to get those. either go with 3 or 5...odd numberswould be a better choice. serra specie you can do 3 or 5 geryis or spilos. if you want a solitary tank get a manny...biggest one you could get which would probably be 4-6 inches if you could find one at the moment. owners that have manuelis bigger than 6 inches tend to hold on to them till they expire. elongatus would be nice if you want a longer specie. wimples you can also shoal. i mean there are a few out there so you'll have lots of options...question is, are they available?

I’m waiting to get a list from one of my guys on what’s available. I was looking at spilos and getting 6-8 at about 2 in and growing them out. Anything I get would be grown out I enjoy that part of keeping fish

Could I keep a mani in a 125? I thought they got pretty big ?
 
if i were you go for the manueli regardless of what size if it's available acquire it bec it's pretty rare. i doubt you'll find a big manueli here in the US. if there are a few available it'll be only 3-5 inch max not unless an old school piranha keeper sells his. it'll take forever to grow a manueli to 8 inches but if you decide to put a 4 inch manny inside your 125 it won't disappoint. it get really active and aggressive in a huge tank. i put one of my manny which was 4" in a 180g by itself as an experiment and it patrolled the whole tank throughout the day at all levels of the tank. it killed anything you put in there even at that size.

Well I guess that does it lol. I’m torn between 3 purple sanchezi or one manni

congrats bud, where did you find one? must be old stock bec most of these vendors/lfs don't have it anymore. how big is it?
btw, if you want to see old pictures of Ps go to piranha-fury.com...it's the only P site left. it's dead but there's still stuff there...

Mike at AquaScapeOnline had a single with a eye thats not 100% and gave me a pretty sweet deal on it. I’m waiting on pics but he’s around 4.5 in. Figure he’ll be solo and I’m wanting to plant this tank very heavy so hopefully he is comfortable. Maybe keep some dithers a little longer only having one good eye lol
