If you want a pair, there are loads of awesome cichlids you could breed in that tank. Just one pair though. H. cyanoguttatus (texas cichlid) and H. carpintis (green texas cichlid) are both really attractive.
yea my lfs has some sweet wild wild cichlids that they just got in. a big big shipment so ill be going down there to check it out. ill see if i see anything that i like more than the oscars.
The tank is adequate.
You'll be more than satisfied with a young pair of Managuense. They're equally personable as the Oscar, but in general poccess an aggressive streak that never fail's to impress.
With the addition of a small shoal of Tinfoil barb's and a Gibbicep's, this would make for an impressive show tank for an extended period. Ofcourse with male Mana's exceeding a foot in length, there will come a time where you'll need to remove the Barb's from his tank. Also, it'd be best to keep a sturdy divider on hand.
