Latest idea for caves. Lincoln logs... I'm having trouble finding if they've been treated, and will leach in water? Although they are made for kids... I'm thinking I could make some pretty neat structures with them. and they would be easy to attach java moss too etc.

My loaches seem to love the sand. You can get it a home depot, Quickcrete commercial grade medium sand #1962. The sand has been prewashed and kiln dried, cost 7 bucks for a 100 pound bag. You can add this sand directly to your tank, there is no dust no cloudy water.

That is an awesome look, I think that will be my next choice in substrate!

I do agree, that is nice. at only $7 per 100 pounds! i'm still on a quest for caves... need to look nice... and while I think coconuts in java moss look nice... what happens when i get some big fat mommas in the future. what do other people do for their like 8inch plus clowns? just use pots?

Started growing the java moss today! one step closer. Also got the tank fully cleaned out of all the saltwater algae? stuff that was in it

Yeah when I was trying to find sand I went to Home Depot and they didn't have any either, neither did Lowes. I asked the guy at Home Depot and he said they used to carry sand but they hadn't in a while. I wasn't sure if it was just mine or not but maybe it's a lot of Home Depot

I've added to my substrate plan.

Eggcrate bottom with schultz aquatic plant soil. Then top that with the 100lb bag of sand.

seems really cheap. On the other hand, egg crate seemed expensive, 10 bucks for a sheet!

For the record, i found the sand you used at Lowes. Home depot is crap compared to Lowes in terms of selection of everything! Also found the reflective tape I was looking for that home depot also didnt carry...

Picked up 3 clown loaches today. one Larget 5 incher, 1 3.5-4 incher, and 1 oddball, with 4 stripes on one side. Also bought the sand, and 5 Coconuts...
