My loaches seem to love the sand. You can get it a home depot, Quickcrete commercial grade medium sand #1962. The sand has been prewashed and kiln dried, cost 7 bucks for a 100 pound bag. You can add this sand directly to your tank, there is no dust no cloudy water.

That is an awesome look, I think that will be my next choice in substrate!
 
I do agree, that is nice. at only $7 per 100 pounds! i'm still on a quest for caves... need to look nice... and while I think coconuts in java moss look nice... what happens when i get some big fat mommas in the future. what do other people do for their like 8inch plus clowns? just use pots?

BTW I was home depot today and didnt see this :( I'll have to check some other home depots...
 
Yeah when I was trying to find sand I went to Home Depot and they didn't have any either, neither did Lowes. I asked the guy at Home Depot and he said they used to carry sand but they hadn't in a while. I wasn't sure if it was just mine or not but maybe it's a lot of Home Depot
