rays like slightly acidic water 6.8pH . don't mess with ur tap water, unless its poison..

rays can adapt pretty easily to Ph as long as its not like the stock market in ur tank.

cheap tank mate = bichirs, discus, silver aros

looks like a reticulated ray. very nice. what tank mates?

Tankmates are 2 green severums about 6in long, 2 silver dollars about 3-4in long, a few 5-6in catfish a belly crawler pike about 4-5in long, a few giant danios, and a needlenose gar about 6-7in long.
